About Broken Bones Simulator:
After completing Broken Reality, I have mixed feelings about whether to recommend it. The game starts off as a pseudo-nostalgic walking sim set in a renditioning of an old-internet utopia, which was enjoyable enough. But soon you find out there’s something amiss in paradise and, to me, the game got a whole lot worse because that’s when you start having to deal with tedious puzzle elements and uninspired fetch quests in order to advance the story. Speaking of the story, it’s kind of everywhere and deals with topics like the corporatization of the internet and consumerism… but provides little closure and doesn’t take much of a stance on any of them. For some spoilers, it gets very dark and pseudo-intellectual as you get closer to the end. To me it seems out to place to apply a modern sense of cynicism to a game set in the most sincere age of the internet. I think that if you have a place in your heart for the “old internet” (or maybe just really like Vaporwave) and have the capacity to enjoy Broken Reality as an experience rather than a game, there’s something worthwhile for you here. But anyone outside of that group should probably reconsider.Genuinely an awesome game! I love that it has the vibe of hypnospace while still being different! Also I love doing all the quests! It took a minute to get used to not being able to jump or run but running isn’t really necessary and if you need to get to something up hey they give you a tool to help you with that! Genuinely a great experience!
