Overview Football Manager 2012:
Football Manager 2012 allows you to take control of any club in over 50 nations across the world, including all of the biggest leagues across Europe. You’re in the hot-seat, which means you decide who plays and who sits on the bench, you’re in total control of tactics, team-talks, substitutions and pitch-side instructions as you follow the match live with the acclaimed 3D match engine allowing YOU to make the difference! There was a time after Portal where every action/adventure puzzle game seemed to revolve around some entity with dubious intentions playing experiments with the player and trying to mess up with our minds/perception (Portal 2, Q.U.B.E., The Witness, Superliminal, off the top of my head). Most of them were interesting and had clever concepts, The visuals are also a perfect match for the overall narrative, with the contrast between the ruins of ancient worlds and the AI controlled by the player creating an uncanny feeling. The soundtrack is also fitting, although a bit intrusive. One last note: The Talos Principle is the game with most Easter eggs per square meter I’ve ever played. Nothing against developers honouring other works that inspired them, and I enjoy finding these little references throughout games. But here there are so many, and often completely exposed, that they break the immersion This is simply the best puzzle game I’ve ever seen that isn’t Portal 2. Amazingly enough, it is obviously NOT aiming for the same target as Portal 2 anyway. Honestly, if you like this kind of first-person, intelligent, and dare I say transcendent game design, it’s hard to imagine anything similar ever touching The Talos Principle as the serious one and Portal 2 as the funny one.
