About World // Zero:
At first i didn’t get what all the hype was about this game then slowly i got used to the interface and after a few failed colonies i started to pick it up. The art style grows on you and the amount of mods and extras on the workshop is staggering you lose yourself in this game in a good way the kind of way when you alt tab and realize oh god it’s 3AM i have to be at work tomorrow lol, if that isn’t high praise for a game i don’t know what is. I have been playing rimworld for a while now since 2016, my hours show how much I have played(Although I would say that 1/4 of that time was spent loading). It is an amazing base game with incredible support for mods by Ludeon Studios, and a modding community that can create some amazing mods out there, such as the vanilla expanded team, combat extended team, and all the small mod creators that create niche but good mods. With the great base game, great community creating mods, and the ease of modding the game, it has been a joy every time I play this game. I can see how this game can be very confusing to new players. I have tried to introduce my friends to this game and they seemed to be pretty confused, and I am pretty sure my first times playing were just me dying over and over again as I did not know at all how to manage my colonies. but the thing is once you manage to figure out how to play, it can be really addicting, as you can always be doing something while you are waiting. waiting for your research on flak gear to finish? go plan out a section of your colony for the future. waiting for that construction to finish? go make sure you colonists are OK. There is always something you can be doing, whether it be planning, changing, or reacting to a threat. You can also play in so many different ways. be the Tyrant who does not give a damn about what their minions thinks, be the bleeding-heart leader who can’t tolerate their colonists suffering. there are so many different ways to play, especially with the new Ideology DLC and the absurd amount of mods on the workshop. in conclusion, I say my money was well worth it considering the amount of joy I get from the game and how many hours I have in it.
